Endurance runner basic flizz protects the energy and signal supply in snow and frost

The sewage treatment plant operated by the Reinhalteverband (RHV) Salzburger Ennstal treats the wastewater of around 12,500 residents and up to 120,000 ski tourists in the Sportwelt Amade with the member municipalities of Altenmarkt, Flachau and Radstadt and the Obertauern ski area.

The operation and in particular the travels and their supply lines are severely affected by the environmental conditions. Due to the amount of snow, it has so far been necessary to keep the travel paths clear with a milling machine and to regularly replace the moving parts for the cable guidance due to the climate and environmental conditions.

RHV has installed the basic flizz system from igus at the two tanks, which are equipped with movable scrapers. It consists of an energy chain that is guided safely and trouble-free in a weatherproof stainless steel housing. The compact and robust system is suitable for travels of up to 200 metres and was designed from the ground up for many years of trouble-free operation with minimal maintenance.

RHV initially equipped the approximately 15-metre-long sand trap, and with it a smaller tank, with the basic flizz system. After this had been in use at the sand trap for a year without any incidents or signs of wear, the RHV fitters also retrofitted a second tank: The 46.5-metre-long secondary clarifier. The floating moving end to compensate for the lateral offset of the scraper was also supplied by igus.
