The Polish company Interma is developing an automatic sample preparation machine for newborn screening using blood drop samples. The device is designed to work in diagnostic laboratories - quietly, fail-safe, without lubrication and hygienically. For this reason, lubrication-free polymer plain bearings from the iglidur® Q2 series are used in the eccentric mechanism. The engineers also use threaded spindles from the dryspin® series for a Cartesian table system.
"We have been working with igus® for several years, they are our partner for the use of plain bearings and threaded spindles. Recently we have also used the 3D printing service for gears. The fast turnaround time deserves a big plus."
